How might a scratch player set up their golf bag?

For me, the emphasis is on the wedges first. Good loft gaps to create consistent yardage gaps at the bottom end of the bag.

Also not often will you see two clubs create the same yardage anywhere in the bag. If there is is, it may well be for two different types of golf course.

Take a look here at how I adjusted some clubs to get a little more forgiveness in the long irons and the use of the settings on the adjustable woods for optimal flight:
